Sara
Westergaard began working at the Joint Office for Planning,
Marketing, and Communication at University of Iowa Hospitals
and Clinics last fall. Throughout the past year, Westergaard
has been writing and editing articles for several hospital
publications. In addition to journalism, she has taken pre-med
requirements and is currently applying to medical schools
for next year.
After graduation,
Westergaard plans to attend medical school and eventually
practice medicine in a primary care setting such as family
medicine, pediatrics, or OB-GYN. She hopes one day to also
work as a contributing medical editor for a national publication.
Westergaard also has a strong interest in world health issues
and dreams of either working or volunteering for the World
Health Organization. In her spare time, Westergaard enjoys
traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
